Family Fun Day – Outside Broadcast

Phoenix FM was delighted to cover the Family Fun Day which was hosted by the Mulhuddart Community Centre on Saturday the 24th during our Phoenix Live Saturday show. Presenters Lesley and Liam managed to sit down and talk to some of the visitors.

Interviews

Oisín, Volunteer at the Irish Red Cross, spoke about his experience of volunteering for the past six years from the age of 10.

Aisling O’Donoghue, Interim Manager of Mulhuddart Community Centre, shared her journey from being on a Community Employment scheme working at the centre to starting in her current role.

Dublin Rose Casey Harris joined us to reflect on her experience participating in this year’s Rose of Tralee and her burgeoning career in music.

Deputy Lord Mayor of Fingal and Fianna Fáil Councillor for Blanchardstown-Mulhuddart JK Onwumereh spoke about his journey from community activism to becoming Deputy Lord Mayor for the current council session.

Leah, Under-19s Footballer at Bohemians FC and Robbie Simpson, Chair of Mulhuddart FC spoke about Leah’s path to playing for Bohs and the need for more young people to play sports.

Community activist Rose Emmett talked about putting Mulhuddart on the map and how she has helped shaped the community over the years.

Eoin Thymne, Parish Priest Administrator in Mulhuddart, spoke about community involvement and the changing role of the parish.
