Station History

The Dublin 15 Community Broadcasting Cooperative Society was established in 1989 and registered by the Registry of Friendly Societies on July 25, 1990. We received our first licence in 1999 and went on air in January 2000. In 2015, 92.5 Phoenix FM celebrated 25 years of broadcasting.

In 2009 the Station employed a manager and staff recruited within the Community Services Programme supported by Department of Social Protection and POBAL to manage the station and increase services to the growing Dublin 15 community.

The station’s programming reflects the wide range of views and interests within the Dublin 15 community through programmes on a variety of topics such as the arts, sports, news, current affairs, local history, religious topics and many more. Specialist music, emerging local bands and theatre and musical societies are also broadcast regularly.
